On 29 July 1763 Captain James Dalyell led 247 British soldiers toward Pontiac’s camp.
Pontiac’s men intercepted them at a narrow bridge crossing Parent’s Creek. Dalyell and nineteen others were killed.

The creek was renamed Bloody Run.
